About us

MirNat is a Start Up Company, established in 2012 by a scientific team from the University of Rome Tor Vergata with specific interests in Pathology, Genetics, Pharmacology and Bioinformatics.

We develop industrial prototypes derived from basic scientific research on plant microRNAs by using “soft” (bioinformatics programs), “hard” (pharmaceuticals) and “friendly” (nutraceuticals) approaches.

Through our team of researchers, MirNat has identified and patented microRNAs with beneficial effects in a wide range of pathologies. The delivery of such molecules through natural micro-vesicles is currently under evaluation in murine model and subsequently human clinical trials phase.

Laure Deutou was born in Banka (West Region of Cameroon) on 09 February1986.

Her high education was completed at the University of Yaoundé where she obtained the Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 2009. She then obtained the Master’s degree in Immunology at the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé. During her thesis, she worked on the contribution of immunochromatography techniques in the detection of human African trypanosomiasis in Cameroon.

From 2018, she is a PhD student in immunology, molecular biology and applied biotechnology, at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Her project is focused on the profile of immuno and inflammatory microRNAs in COVID-19 patients and the potential cross-kingdom role of plant microRNAs in the regulation of the lung inflammation.

Since December 2016, she also manages the didactic laboratory of the Evangelical University of Cameroon.
